ROCKLEDGE, Fla. (AP) — A woman has been upgraded to stable condition after a highway crash that killed three of her sisters.

Barbara Thomas was a passenger in a vehicle involved in the four-car crash Sunday on Interstate 95 near Rockledge. She was in a car with three sisters, Kay Ferril of Rockledge and Willie Morgagne and Rose Neal, both of Cocoa.

The other three women died when another car veered from its lane, struck a guardrail and hit their car head-on. Their vehicle also was struck from behind by a second vehicle.

Florida Highway Patrol investigators tell Florida Today (http://on.flatoday.com/1KegX0Q) that charges are pending against the driver that struck the sisters' car head-on. That driver and his two passengers also were seriously injured.

The sisters were returning from a trip to South Florida.
