LENOX, Mass. (AP) - An 88-year-old Florida woman has been killed and her husband seriously injured in a violent rollover crash in western Massachusetts.
Lenox police announced Thursday that Nancy Goessel of Naples, Florida, died at a hospital an hour and a half after the crash shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Police tell The Berkshire Eagle (http://bit.ly/2bu5Wgi ) that 88-year-old William Goessel was driving when he swerved into oncoming traffic and struck an SUV, sideswiped a parked car, and struck a third vehicle. Goessel's car then flipped onto his roof on a bank's lawn.
A woman and an infant in one of the other vehicles were treated and released from the hospital.
William Goessel remained hospitalized as of Thursday.
The crash remains under investigation.
