MONTICELLO, FL (WTXL) -- A woman is blaming her car accident on a creature, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The 64-year-old woman was driving along County Road 158 just after 6:30 am Thursday when the accident happened.
According to FHP, instead of curving with the road the woman just kept driving her car straight. The FHP report says that she drove through a ditch and hit a power-pole. The impact caused the woman's Toyota Rav4 to spin and go through a wooden fence and hit a tree, said troopers.
The driver told the responding trooper that she was guided off the road by lights and a creature that told her to follow them off the roadway.
This is the second time that the woman has had a traffic accident in the same location, said troopers. Troopers did not say what caused the woman's first accident.
The woman was taken to the hospital where she was held under the Baker Act, also known as the Florida Mental Health Act.
