(RNN) - A 31-year-old Florida woman was charged with drunken driving with an unrestrained 3-year-old in the backseat, according to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.
Brandy Lerma’s blood alcohol was more than twice the legal limit, the Palm Beach Post reported. Deputies stopped her after another driver called 911 when he observed that she was “zig-zagging in and out of lanes,” and told authorities that he was afraid she was going to kill somebody.
The arresting deputy said he detected a strong odor of alcohol on the Boynton Beach, FL, woman, and added that she fell down twice when she was asked to walk and stand on one leg.
She was arrested and charged with DUI and child abuse, the Post reported.
