TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Veterans Foundation gathered Thursday to celebrate their 10 year anniversary and kick off to their new initiative "No Florida Veteran Left Behind."
Vets from all over the area packed the Double Tree by Hilton to celebrate the work of the Florida Veterans Foundation.
The foundation kicked off the night with dinner, then discussed its new initiative, which includes registering 1,000 veterans for health and other benefits, funding Suicide Prevention Services and supporting opiod addiction programs.
The program consultant expressed how important the night is to educate vets about different resources they have access to.
Ken Franklin, a Florida Veterans Foundation program consultant: "They signed that ticket for our freedom as a county... and many veterans have stepped away or are not aware of the benefits they are entitled to because of their service on behalf of our county."
The Florida Veterans Foundation also launched their fundraising goal to raise $100,000 in 100 days.
