Florida Troopers arrest 13-year-old driving stolen car

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida troopers have arrested a 13-year-old that they say lead them on a chase through Leon County while driving a stolen car.

Troopers began following the stolen car at about 3:54 p.m. on Thursday, July 31. The vehicle, a 2000 Nissan Altima, was reported stolen out of Quincy, Florida. Troopers intercepted the vehicle on the west side of Tallahassee in Leon County. The chase didn't last long, and ended with the suspects' arrest at the intersection of Lake Bradford Road and Pepper Drive.

The Altima was recovered and returned to the proper owner.

The suspect is a juvenile, troopers are withholding identity. The suspect's guardian has been notified.

The teen faces the following charges: grand theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, no drivers license, resisting arrest without violence, and leaving the scene of a traffic crash.
