PIERSON, Fla. (AP) — A 2-year-old boy has died days after being pulled from a backyard swimming pool in Pierson.
Sebastian Jones died Saturday at Florida South hospital in Orlando. Volusia County Sheriff's officials say the child was found floating face down in the family's swimming pool on Wednesday.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://bit.ly/1Nyf3a4 ) reports the sheriff's office continues to investigate.
Spokesman Gary Davidson says the child's grandfather Charles Jones heard a splash and went to investigate. He found the boy in the shallow end of the pool. The grandfather pulled the boy out and attempted to do CPR on him.
Paramedics revived the boy and he was taken to the hospital.
