TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida to release new unemployment numbers.
Scott plans to highlight the new numbers during a visit to an ocean freight shipping company located in Miramar.
The state's unemployment rate in November was 5.8 percent. The national jobless rate is currently 5.6 percent.
Scott made job creation a centerpiece of both of his election and re-election campaigns.
Payroll provider ADP reported last week that the state added 21,700 private sector jobs during December. ADP's survey is separate from the one conducted by government agencies.
Florida trailed only California in the number of jobs the state added in November.
