Florida theater holds auditions for new play centered around homelessness

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – The Indaba Theater of Florida held auditions on Wednesday at the Kearney Center for a new play.

The play is titled, "Marigold Days: Conversation for Change."

It's aimed at addressing homelessness and while anyone can audition the director said she wants to focus on homeless individuals.

The play highlights the needs and wants of homeless individuals to tell their stories.

The playwrights believe that in telling our stories, we begin to heal.

"It's a way to inspire the  individual and be able to help them grown in self esteem self aware self confidence and it actually helps them stabilize in their lives," said Donna Pearl Cotterell.

The show will run December 8, from 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
