TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The 2019 FSU vs Boise State game will be played in Jacksonville at TIAA Bank Field on Labor Day Weekend 2019 and will be nationally televised.
President John Thrasher along with Mayor Lenny Curry and the JAXSPORTS Council made the announcement Wednesday.
The 2019 game will be FSU’s first-ever against Boise State. The Seminoles will play the second game of the two-game series in Boise, ID during the 2020 season.
“I commend Stan Wilcox and the JAXSPORTS Council for creating this tremendous opportunity for Florida State University,” said FSU President John Thrasher. “We are excited to play in Jacksonville and give our alumni and fans the opportunity to enjoy a game in one of the premier athletic venues in the South.”
U.S. Rep. Al Lawson was also pleased with the announcement:
“The FSU vs. Boise State football game at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville will not only be a win for one of the teams on the field, but a major victory for our community. Tens of thousands of college football fans are expected to pack the city for the big game, generating millions in revenue for local businesses, both small and large. This game will also provide additional national exposure for Jacksonville as a sports mecca. I look forward to seeing my alma mater take on and defeat Boise State next August in this historic match-up.”
Tickets to the 2019 FSU vs Boise State game will go on-sale in 2019 and will be available on a priority system.
