TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State University students voted yes on a referendum to make it a "Sanctuary campus" for illegal immigrants.
66 percent of voters were in favor of the referendum.
If the university adopts the measure, no FSU offices or organizations will be able to report any student's immigration status to immigration and customs enforcement.
It also would guarantee undocumented students to receive in-state tuition waivers.
Now, it's up to university administration and President John Thrasher to acknowledge the referendum and declare it in order for the campus to become a "sanctuary campus".
