TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State University is challenging students to get involved in the community this week.
WTXL ABC's Jada Williams shared more details Monday on the university's push for civic engagement.
This week is all about empowering students to do their civic duties and that's why they're calling it Civic Engagement Week.
The week of events is sponsored by the Florida State University Office of Governmental Affairs.
Events throughout the week include registering students to vote, honoring veterans and learning more about the Constitution.
Student leaders say having these conversations and giving back is something they hope all Florida State students carry with them well after graduation.
Everything kicks off Monday with a forum discussing higher education within Florida.
It starts at 5:45 p.m. in the Black Student Union House on campus.
