TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Sheriff's Association says that they are investigating after they were recently notified that Florida residents have been getting scam calls from people claiming to represent them.

They said that the solicitation calls are coming from someone claiming to represent FSA and the Florida Police Officers Foundation.

FSA stressed that the calls are a scam. They are reminding residents that the FSA will never solicit by phone and that the Florida Police Officers Foundation is not a registered entity in the state of Florida.

The number in question, 239-785-1905, has been reported and is being investigated.

They have encouraged all their members and the citizens of Florida to sign up on the National Do Not Call Registry and report any further solicitations to the Federal Trade Commission and local law enforcement.
