TAMPA, Fla. (WTXL) - A Florida school security officer has been arrested after being accused of sexually battering a 6-year-old student.

The Tampa Police Department says they have arrested 22-year-old Malcolm Curtis Tillman for sexual battery on a victim less than 12 years old.

On Jan. 10, police were notified of a possible sexual battery at Booker T. Washington Elementary School involving a school security officer and a 6-year-old female student.

Tillman denied the allegation, but admitted that he was alone with the child in a classroom.

However, police say physical and DNA evidence gathered at the scene implicated Tillman, leading them to issue a warrant for his arrest.

Tillman has been employed by the Hillsborough County Public Schools and is stationed at Booker T. Washington Elementary School.
