TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A member of the Florida Legislature is facing charges of driving under the influence.

Tallahassee Police say Rep. Dane Eagle was arrested at 2 a.m. on Monday morning, after an officer spotted him driving erratically, mounting a curb, and running a red light.

The officer who pulled Eagle over says he smelled alcohol on the representative's breath, his eyes were bloodshot, and he stumbled out of his SUV.

Eagle denied that he had been drinking, and told the officer he was "good to get home."  After refusing to take a field sobriety test or submit to a breathalyzer, Eagle was arrested on DUI charges and later released.
