ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Three rental markets in Florida are among the least affordable in the nation.
A new report released by the research firm RealtryTrac last week said that Miami-Dade, Broward and Hernando counties are among the least affordable markets when it comes to rent as a share of income.
The report looked at the share of a household's median income it would take to rent a three-bedroom property.
In Miami-Dade County, it was 45 percent; in Broward County, it was 43 percent; and it was 42 percent in Hernando County, which is north of Tampa.
The least affordable market was Bronx County in New York, where rent made up 69 percent of a person's median income.
