FLORIDA, (WTXL) - The Florida Supreme Court rules in favor of the state's largest utility company upholding a rate increase by the Florida Power and Light.
FPL has roughly 4.6 million customers. The court ruled Tuesday that the public service commission didn't error when it reached a settlement with the company on a rate increase that was approved two years ago. Since the agreement the typical customer bill has gone up just under $5.00 a month.
FLP spokesman Mark Bubriski says, "Bills will drop by about $2.00 a month."
Those changes should take place by January.
