TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — In honor of the 17 people killed in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14, 2018, Gov. DeSantis announced Friday that the State Capitol will be lit up in the school's colors for a week.

The Capitol will be illuminated in the school's colors from Feb. 14 to Feb. 21, according to a tweet from the governor.

The school's colors are burgundy and silver.

This announcement was in addition to Gov. DeSantis' proclamation from Friday, where he directed flags of the United States and state flags to be flown at half-staff on Sunday.
