(WTXL) — A Florida lawmaker wants to get pets out of restaurants.

Bruce Antone proposed House Bill 243 in hopes that it would do just that.

The bill would prohibit non-service animals from being allowed in certain public food service establishments.

A bill was passed in 2006 that allowed pets in outdoor seating areas.

But many people pushed the limits by passing their pets off as service animals and brought them inside restaurants.
