GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WTXL) - — Two people are in jail after police said they worked together to lure in robbery victims through an online dating app.

Gainesville Police say 24-year-old Leila Johnson would offer sex for money. Police said Johnson invited men to an apartment complex where 31-year-old Travares Wilson confronted them with a gun or knife and robbed them. The last time, the pair were talking to an undercover officer.

Authorities said there have been at least five reported incidents and countless unreported robberies in the area since January that fit the same profile. Wilson and Johnson were charged Thursday.

Authorities said he confessed to working with Johnson and had illegal drugs and a firearm when they arrested him. The investigation is still ongoing.
