Jacksonville to adopt mandatory mask requirement on Monday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WTXL) — The city of Jacksonville has just announced that it will be requiring face masks for public and indoor locations, and in other situations where individuals cannot socially distance.

The city made the announcement on social media Monday afternoon.

"We continue to urge everyone to practice personal responsibility and do their part to help stop the spread of this virus. #JaxInThisTogether," the post read on Facebook.

The mandate will go into effect at 5 p.m. on Monday. As of Monday at 12:39 p.m., officials have not released the official language of the order mandating masks.
