PALM HARBOR, Fla. (WTXL) - — A 75-year-old man defends his dog after he said an alligator attacked it.
Buddy Ackerman said the 8-foot gator came out of a pond near his Palm Harbor home while out walking his golden retriever.
Ackerman kicked the gator until it let go. Both animals are okay.
Florida Wildlife officials stopped by and trapped the gator later that day.
