Multiple FBI agents were shot while serving a warrant in south Florida early Tuesday morning, sources familiar with the matter confirmed.

It happened in the area of 10100 Reflections Boulevard West, between North Nob Hill Road and Hiatus Road in Sunrise as FBI agents and police officers from the Sunrise Police Department and Davie Police Department swarmed the neighborhood, ABC affiliate WPLG reports.

A spokesperson for the police department told WPLG said the suspect barricaded themselves inside a home and paramedics were called to the scene.

A representative from the FBI confirmed that there were injuries as a result of the shooting, but declined to give any further information at this time

While authorities did not confirm any deaths, a medical examiner was spotted arriving at the scene just before 8:30 a.m, WPLG said.

A sergeant from the Davie Police Department told Local 10 News that their units were just assisting in the matter and were not taking the lead in the investigation.

Roads in the area are closed in both directions, but officials say the scene is now safe.
