(WTXL) — A Publix coupon that is circulating across social media offering shoppers $80 is a fake.
The coupon, which appears to be generating from a fake Publix website, claims that grocery store chain is giving away the money as part of "its 75th anniversary."
However, the coupon and the website are not associated with Publix and the company even took to Twitter to let that be known.
"This coupon is not supported by Publix and is not valid at any of our locations," Publix wrote on Twitter Tuesday.
Hi, this coupon is not supported by Publix and is not valid at any of our locations. We recommend you don’t participate or provide your personal information.►Chris
