(WTXL) — A Florida mom who went missing with her four children six weeks ago has been found dead in Georgia and her husband was arrested after telling authorities in Georgia where more bodies could be found.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says Casei Jones, 32, was reported missing Saturday by her family. They say she and her four children, Cameron Bowers, 10, Preston Bowers, 5, Mercalli Jones, 2, and Aiyana Jones, 1, hadn't been seen in six weeks.

Monday morning, deputies announced that Casei Jones was found dead near Brantley County, Georgia.

MCSO detectives have confirmed that they have found the remains of four children in Brantley County, Georgia. Detectives believe the remains may be those of four missing Marion County children.

Deputies say Jones’ husband, Michael Wayne Jones Jr., has also been found in Georgia and is currently being questioned in connection to Casei’s death. At this time, a warrant has been issued for his arrest for 2nd Degree Homicide.

According to the Brantley County Sheriff's Office in Georgia, Michael Jones was arrested after he was involved in a crash south of Hickox.

Deputies said when they arrived at the scene of the crash, they smelled a foul odor.

Jones told deputies, "You may want to put me in handcuffs because there was a dead body" inside the car, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.

Jones told deputies that prior to the crash, he concealed other bodies in Charlton County. Authorities in Charlton went to the location Jones said he hid bodies and found an unknown number of dead bodies, according to Brantley County Sheriff's Office.

The bodies will be transported to the GBI Medical Examiner's Office where positive identification will be determined.

Based upon the evidence found during the investigation and interviews with Michael Jones by Marion County Sheriff’s Office detectives, it is believed that Michael Wayne Jones, Jr. murdered the victims in Marion County.

Detectives believe he stored the bodies at his home and in his van for several weeks before transporting them to Brantley County, Georgia.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Michael Jones for having committed the offense of Second Degree Murder in Marion County. More charges may be forthcoming.

The investigation is still ongoing in conjunction with the GBI, Charlton County Sheriff's Office, Brantley County Sheriff's Office, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.
