(WTXL) — Five college students in Florida have tested positive for coronavirus after returning from a spring break trip.
The University of Tampa announced Saturday that five students from the school tested positive for COVID-19 and four of them returned to campus after their spring break trip.
UT says, "All are self-isolating – the latter four on campus -- and none have been hospitalized."
The school didn't say where the students went for their spring break trip, but said all five were traveling together along with other UT students from March 8 through 15.
A sixth student also tested positive for COVID-19 after traveling internationally. That student is also self-isolating.
Spring breakers in Florida have gotten attention on social media after video of students flooding the beaches began circulating.
Last week, DeSantis limited gatherings at Florida beaches to 10 people per group. Since then, local governments, including Franklin County, have opted to pass emergency ordinances shutting down their beaches.
