TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) Governor Rick Scott is reportedly close to a new gambling deal with the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

A source close to the negotiations tells the Associated Press that Governor Scott's administration has been reaching out to legislative leaders, regarding the idea of holding a special May session to discuss the potential deal.

Senate President Don Gaetz' office confirms that Gaetz met with Lieutenant Governor Carlos Lopez-Canterra this week, to discuss the proposal.  The spokeswoman did not elaborate further, and the Seminole Tribe of Florida has also thus far chosen not to comment on the issue.

The Seminole Tribe has held exclusive rights to blackjack and other table games at several casinos throughout Florida since 2010.  Certain provisions in that deal are currently set to expire next year.
