PENSACOLA, Fla. (WTXL) - A man has been sentenced to over three years in federal prison after pleading guilty to mailing threatening letters to a Florida Sheriff on behalf of ISIS.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Regis L. Walker was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison Monday. He plead guilty to mailing threatening communications in January.

In June 2016, Walker mailed a threatening letter on notebook paper to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, addressed to the sheriff David Morgan.

In the letter, Walker claimed several people who had joined ISIS would simultaneously attack military bases, beaches, and schools at a random time and could not be stopped by law enforcement officers because they "cannot be everywhere at once."

According to officials, Walker made specific reference to the Orlando Pulse Night Club attack that killed approximately 50 people.

He also wrote that the attackers planned on “not giving up,” and that they “plan on dying.”  He signed the note as “ISIS ALLAH.”

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was able to find Walker's fingerprints on the letter and he was arrested in connection to the crime.

Walker is a registered sex offender. He was previously convicted for lewd or lascivious conduct on a victim under 16 years old.
