WASHINGTON (AP) - A man who pleaded guilty to landing a gyrocopter on a lawn outside the U.S. Capitol as a political protest says he now wants to land a spot inside the building, as a member of Congress.

Douglas Hughes of Ruskin, Florida, said he will run against a South Florida Democrat, but declined to say whom.

Hughes' intention to run came to light Wednesday when his attorney asked a judge to lift some of the restrictions on his freedom so he can work to get elected.

Hughes is to be sentenced April 13. Prosecutors have agreed not to ask for more than 10 months in prison as part of the plea deal. His lawyers say they'll ask for probation, and say his guilty plea in the case won't disqualify him from seeking office.
