Florida Man Arrested for Sexual Battery, Trading Pornographic Images of Children

SARASOTA, Fl (WWSB). -- Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department have arrested and charged c, 34, of Sarasota. Police allege that Horner sexually battered a 1 year-old child, took naked photos of that child and traded those pornographic images online with people in Argentina, Australia and West Virginia.

"Just go ahead and shoot me so I don't have to deal with this," Horner is reported to have said to the arresting officers, who reported that he was crying and visibly upset in the interview room.

According to the police report, Sarasota P.D. was contacted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) about a child pornography investigation they were conducting on a suspect residing in Argentina. The DHS investigator had intercepted email conversations between his target and a man living in Sarasota, Fla. These conversations are extremely graphic and disturbing, and include the two men commenting on child pornography and their experiences producing them.

After executing an emergency order with Microsoft to obtain the account information of the email address, police ascertained that it belong to Dannie Ray Horner of Sarasota.

Horner has been charged with:

• Felony sexual battery (Victim under 12, Suspect over 18)

• Felony sexual performance by a child – Production of child pornography

• Felony transmission of pornography by electronic device

• Felony battery of a child by expelling certain fluids of materials

If convicted, Horner could face life in prison.
