LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - A 23-year-old central Florida man is accused of fatally beating his father with a hammer.
Polk County Sheriff's deputies say Vincent Moccia was watching television with his 52-year-old father Anthony Moccia III in the master bedroom of the Lakeland home on Thursday. His mother says she found him a short time later in the living room, crying and covered in blood.
The Ledger of Lakeland (http://bit.ly/1WCQ5Ah ) reports the son told his Ruby Moccia he "did something wrong." She went to the bedroom and found her husband on the bed also covered in blood. A ball-peen hammer was on the bed.
The father was taken to the hospital where he died.
Vincent Moccia faces first-degree murder charges and is being held without bail. It's not clear whether he has an attorney.
