TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Leaders of the Florida Legislature have reached a budget deal that should allow them to end the 2016 session on time.

House Speaker Steve Crisafulli and Senate President Andy Gardiner announced on Friday that they have an agreement on how much money to spend in key areas such as education and health care.

Legislators are expected to start working this weekend on individual spending items throughout the budget.

The session is scheduled to end on March 11. State law requires that the budget must be on the desks of lawmakers 72 hours before a final vote.

The House and Senate passed budgets that were about $1 billion apart in overall spending. The two chambers had differences on the amount of money set aside for both tax cuts and business incentives.
