LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)--The Florida Highway Patrol is monitoring the areas of SR-51 and CR-357 in Lafayette County for smoke and fog.

The forest service reported a wildfire in the area overnight with reduced visibility one half of a mile.

The fire is out with a few hot spots remaining. Florida Highway Patrol troopers say motorists should use caution when driving through these areas.

They say visibility could be limited due to smoke and fog especially during the night. Drivers are urged to reduce speed and use their low beam headlights.
