TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida Gov. Rick Scott may not be as wealthy as he used to be.
Scott filed his annual financial disclosure forms Thursday. Scott reported that his net worth was more than $119 million by the end of 2015, a drop of nearly 19 percent from the previous year.
Scott was a multi-millionaire businessman prior to running for governor in 2010. He used tens of millions of his own fortune to pay for his first campaign and his re-election campaign four years later.
Much of Scott's wealth is shielded from public view.
He has slightly more than $100 million in a blind trust where the individual assets are not disclosed. Legal attempts to block Scott from utilizing a blind trust haven't been successful.
Scott, who does not take a salary as governor, reported earning nearly $16.6 million last year from his investments.
