TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida Gov. Rick Scott is keeping his jobs agency director for his second term.

Scott announced Wednesday that he is reappointing Jesse Panuccio as executive director of the Department of Economic Opportunity.

Panuccio has held the job since January 2013. He took over the agency after the previous executive director abruptly resigned amid questions about jobless benefits he received before he was hired.

Panuccio's tenure has not been completely smooth. His agency has come under fire for its handling of a $63 million unemployment benefits system and website launched in late 2013. People seeking benefits have had problems getting them.

The department is also involved in business development efforts for the state.

Scott said in a statement that Panuccio has done "great job" in helping the state create jobs.
