TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The Florida Emergency Operations Center says they have activated to level two in anticipation of Tropical Storm Erika.
In a press release, the center says they activated to partial activation because of the indications that the storm could hit Florida.
"Too many variables still exist for us to be able to accurately predict where this storm might impact us or how strong it may be if it does," said FDEM Director Bryan W. Koon. "We are preparing the protective and responsive measures we will need if the storm continues to develop out of an abundance of caution."
Authorities say residents and visitors should keep an eye on local news as the storm progresses and should make sure disaster supply kits are fully stocked.
