Tallahassee, FL (WTXL) - Florida Department of Corrections fires more than 30 workers, for misconduct, just after the department implements a new zero tolerance policy for corruption or abuse at DOC.
DOC Secretary, Mike Crews, fired 32 workers today, who are accused of breaking the law. All of the workers dismissed were on administrative leave during a review that was launched earlier this summer.
Dismissal letters to the workers say they are being let go because they "Participated in a force incident that resulted in the death of an inmate." But, none of the fired workers have been arrested or charged with any crimes.
Now, more than 80 inmate deaths are being looked into by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
