TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) is out with an important message this month: 'Stay right at night'.
They say this will help people avoid being involved in wrong way accidents.
July is Wrong Way Driving Awareness Month.
According to department data, there were 1490 wrong way crashes in Florida in 2015, resulting in 96 deaths.
Since the majority of those crashes are head-on collisions, they say two-thirds of those crashes end with the driver either injured or killed.
