SNEADS, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Department of Corrections will host a recruitment event at the Apalachee Correctional Institution.
Apalachee CI is one of several facilities offering a $1,000 signing bonus to new hires.
The department says people seeking jobs should bring these items: driver’s license, legible copy of birth certificate, social security card, high school diploma, GED or college transcripts, and any name change documents (if applicable), such as a marriage certificate.
Veterans and reservists/Guardsmen should bring a copy of their DD-214 or military ID, respectively.
To take the Criminal Justice Abilities Test (required for employment), you should bring a $12 money order payable to the Florida Department of Corrections.
The event will be Friday, Dec. 8, at 9:00 a.m. Officials say people seeking to be hired should arrive no later than 8:30 a.m.
The Apalachee Correctional Institution – Training Building is at 1796 Gulf Power Road in Sneads.
