PERRY, Fla. –The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) Office of Inspector General (OIG) arrested Franchesca Smith on Wednesday, after an OIG criminal investigation.
According to her arrest warrant, Smith conspired with inmates to bring synthetic marijuana and tobacco into the Taylor Correctional Institution. She was also arrested for money laundering and has been charged with accepting unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior.
Following the arrest, OIG inspectors transported Smith to the Taylor County Jail.
