FLORIDA – The number of Floridians living to age 100 and beyond continues to grow.
According to the Sebring Highlands Today (http://bit.ly/1j9cqpx ), the U.S. Census recorded around 32,000 centenarians in 1980.
That number has more than doubled to about 72,000, with more than 4,000 in Florida alone.
Only two states – California and New York – have more.
More than 82 percent of people age 100-plus are women.
