TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--Eighteen projects around the state are getting $1 million in grants to retrofit public buildings in order to increase energy efficiency.
That's according to the Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam.
The projects include replacing indoor lighting, insulation upgrades, replacement of HVAC units and ducts, and installation of energy management systems.
Here's a list of projects in our area:
-City of Tallahassee, $74, 940, energy efficiency retrofits at the Lincoln Neighborhood Center
-Leon County Board of County Commissioners, $63, 374, Dr. B.L. Perry Branch Library HVAC chiller replacement and system efficiency upgrades
-Wakulla County, $58, 400, Wakulla County Florida Library energy retrofit
-Jackson County Board of County Commissioners, $38, 971, energy retrofit of the Jackson County Public Library
-Pregnancy Help & Information Center Inc. in Tallahassee, $32, 389, LED lighting improvements
-Liberty County Board of Commissioners, $22, 430, Jimmy Weaver Memorial Library energy efficient retrofit
-City of Midway, $10, 700, City of Midway energy efficiency grant application
