Florida A&M University Celebrates 129th Anniversary

TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Florida A&M University has celebrated 129 years of history in higher education on Monday.

The university's Founder Day kicked off at 10 a.m. with a speech from interim president Dr. Larry Robinson, a performance from a gospel choir, and a ceremony honoring faculty at Lee Hall Auditorium.

Following the convocation in Lee Hall, FAMU's Marching 100 played in near the Eternal Flame as student body leaders laid a special wreath. There were also a recital presentation, appearances from former university leaders, and a sweet treat for attendees. 

The event was free and open to the public.
