TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - Governor Rick Scott orders flags fly at half-staff in honor of those who have paid the ultimate price for safety.
As a mark of respect for all law enforcement officers who have heroically sacrificed their lives to protect and defend. Scott designating May 15, 2015 as Peace Officers Memorial Day. The Governor directs the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the State of Florida from sunrise to sunset on Friday, May 15, 2015.
Scott encourages all Floridians to display the United States and State of Florida flags at half-staff from their homes and businesses on May 15, 2015.
