Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of Sheriff Campbell

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Governor Rick Scott is calling for flags to be flown at half-staff on Tuesday to pay tribute to Leon County Sheriff Larry Campbell.

Sheriff Campbell died on Christmas Eve after long battles with cancer.  Funeral services are set for Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's Anglican Church at 4784 Thomasville Road in Tallahassee,

In honor of Sheriff Campbell, Gov. Scott is directing all U.S. and State of Florida flags to be flown at half-staff at the Leon County Courthouse, Tallahassee City Hall, the Leon County Sheriff's Office and at the State Capitol from sunrise to sunset.

Sheriff Campbell, 72,was first elected to his position in 1996. His law enforcement career began in 1961.
