TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--The Florida Lottery Secretary will resign in October to pursue opportunities in the private sector.
Cynthia O'Connell was appointed secretary by Governor Rick Scott in 2011.
Scott has named the lottery's deputy secretary of sales and marketing, Tom Delacenserie, the interim secretary.
Delacenserie's prior position at the lottery was director of sales from 2005-2013. He began his career at the Florida lottery in 2000 as the district manager in Ft. Myers.
