TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Gov. Rick Scott says Florida's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dipped to 7.5 percent in March, the state's lowest rate in more than four years.
Last month's statewide rate is down from a revised rate of 7.8 percent in February. Scott said Friday that the declining jobless rate is in stark contrast to the economic climate before he became governor in January 2011.
Florida's rate is below the national unemployment rate of 7.6 percent in March.
Scott is talking about the state's jobless situation during a stop in Naples.
Scott has spent much of his time in recent weeks reminding Floridians that things have gotten better since he took office.
