MIAMI (AP) - A 7-year-old Miami girl has been named one of the top Citizen Heroes by the Medal of Honor Foundation after she fended off a would-be kidnapper from abducting her younger cousin.

A'Nari Taylor and her cousin were playing outside last summer when a man picked up the little boy. Taylor kicked and hit the man until he dropped her cousin. The suspect was later arrested for kidnapping.

Taylor was nominated for Citizen Service Before Self Honors. The award is given to three citizens by members of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. She was one of 23 finalists announced Monday.
