ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (AP) - A northeast Florida sheriff's department has lost three deputies in the past month related to allegations of domestic violence.

The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/2b9tV4f ) reports that two St. Johns County Sheriff's Office deputies resigned amid the allegations, and one deputy was fired after an internal affairs investigation.

The most recent incident was Aug. 13, when deputies arrested Deputy Timothy Robertson on a domestic battery charge involving his wife. He resigned.

Two weeks earlier, Deputy Kevin Nickmeyer resigned, and faces domestic battery and assault charges. He has pleaded not guilty.

A few weeks before that, Deputy David Nogowski was fired after a domestic battery arrest. Nogowski also has pleaded not guilty.

Sheriff's Cmdr. Chuck Mulligan says the recent troubles are not normal, and pointed out there were no reported incidents in 2015.
