TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- A bill filled by two Florida legislators would ban sex offenders on probation from accessing pornography.

The legislation, Senate Bill 182 and House Bill 73 would modify a Florida law that says offenders are only banned from the type of pornography that relates to their offense. This bill would prohibit the possession of any obscene, pornographic, or sexually stimulating material; this includes auditory and visual content.

The legislation was filed by Senator Kelli Stargel (R-Lakeland) and Representative Katie Edwards (D-Plantation).

If passed, the bill would take effect on July 14, 2014.
